Why This Workout Is Different
Most players try to build speed by simply increasing the metronome.
But speed can break down for many different reasons.
Your picking motion may become too large.
Your hands may lose synchronization.
Your fretting hand may become tense.
Your timing may become inconsistent.
Or you may be able to play a short burst fast but lose control during a longer phrase.
The Guitar Speed Builder develops these skills progressively instead of treating speed as one single ability.
Speed is not one skill. It is a chain of skills.
From Short Bursts to Sustained Speed
The workout begins on one string so you can focus on the fundamental mechanics without adding string-crossing complexity.
You’ll progressively work through:
- controlled triplets
- sextuplet speed bursts
- longer picking patterns
- fretting-hand synchronization
- different fingering positions
- position changes
- connected sequences
- longer sustained high-speed runs
Each stage adds another part of the speed-building chain.
Know When to Speed Up — and When to Slow Down
The goal is not to reach the highest BPM as quickly as possible.
Move faster only while you can maintain:
- clean timing
- relaxed movement
- good synchronization
- controlled picking motion
If a short burst works but a longer pattern falls apart, reduce the tempo for the longer pattern.
Train the movement you want to keep.
Do not repeatedly train the mistake.
Who Is This For?
The Guitar Speed Builder is for guitarists who already understand basic alternate picking but struggle with:
- increasing speed without tension
- keeping both hands synchronized
- maintaining control during longer fast phrases
- inconsistent timing
- position changes at higher speeds
- turning short bursts into usable sustained speed
You do not need to be an advanced guitarist.
Start at the BPM where your technique still feels controlled.
Your Starting Point Doesn't Matter
The practice pack includes audio tracks from 55 to 100 BPM, so you can choose a tempo that matches your current level.
Your goal is not to compete with someone else’s BPM.
Your goal is to improve from your own baseline.
